When you think about great electronic music artists, names like Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream. Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Kitaro and Jean Michel Jarre immediately spring to mind. Now Danish electronic music composer Nattefrost can be proudly added to this list of prestigious artists. As reviewer Paul Rijkens recently stated, “Nattefrost has become quite a 'household name' in serious electronic music!” Meaning "Nightfrost" in English, Nattefrost is actually the alias for musician Bjørn Jeppesen, who describes his work as “synthesizer based contemporary electronic music with vintage elements." It all started in 1995 with the release of a cassette tape that included some dark ambient tracks. Bjørn developed his music and made it more melodic and rhythmic over the years. So far to date, Nattefrost has released 7 albums, 2 EPs and is included on 15 compilation CDs worldwide. On his Underneath The Nightsky and Transformation albums from 2007 and 2008 Jeppesen invited renown German music artist Robert Schroeder to record with him (Schroeder has released many solo albums, the first 5 of which were produced by the legendary Klaus Schulze). Jeppesen and Schroeder composed the two tracks “Perfectly Connected” and “Kopenhaachen” together.

Nattefrost's most recent CD release on Netherland's Groove-label, Dying Sun/Scarlet Moon, has been receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike worldwide:

“Bjørn likes to take challenges in working with other musicians. For instance, amongst others, he has worked with Robert Schroeder. On Dying Sun/Scarlet Moon also some interesting people are present (physically and/or digitally). He is accompanied by Matzumi (aka Kathrin Manz) on "Die Kinder Der Erde" and Synth.nl (aka. Michel van Osenbruggen) on "Close Encounter." Bjørn is known as a musician who tries to mix different kinds of influences into his music and then puts his own 'sauce,' so to say, over it. This 'sauce' is a Scandinavian atmosphere. A somewhat 'colder' version of Jean Michel Jarre perhaps? More than is the case on other albums, the melody is very important and present on Dying Sun/Scarlet Moon. Bjørn has the ability to compose tracks with impressive sequences, fine melodies but all the time with this Scandinavian feel to it. That makes his music special. With Dying Sun/Scarlet Moon, Bjørn proves that he is growing as a musician but also as a composer.” - Paul Rijkens

“The fine electronics Bjørn Jeppesen aka Nattefrost presents on Dying Sun/Scarlet Moon album are of a groovy but also spatial nature. The album offers a nice assemblage of attractive sequencer patterns, contemporary sounds and textures, all glued together into catchy instrumental compositions which set things in motion from the first tracks on. All in all, Mr Jeppesen knows how to aptly pull off an attractive bunch of electronic music on this release.” - Bert Strolenberg / Sonic Immersion

Along with the positive reaction from the music press, Nattefrost's Dying Sun/Scarlet Moon has received heavy radio airplay in Denmark, as well as in foreign countries such as Germany, Holland, Spain, England (BBC) and USA.

In support of Nattefrost's recent CD release, Bjørn has been performing select concerts to enthusiastic audeinces. “Therefore it is not a strange thing that there was a lot of demand in seeing this versatile musician from Denmark live on a festival in The Netherlands,” said Paul Rijkens. “This took place on the E-Live festival in Holland on October 9, 2010 and was a big success.” Also in 2009 Nattefrost was the opener for Oh Land at Fermaten, Herning in Denmark. He also performed at the Electronic Circus Festival, Bielefeld in Germany that same year, and in 2010 at Norberg Festival in Sweden. Recently Nattefrost performed at the Danish Synth Festival (That show got 6 stars in Gaffa, one of Denmark’s leading music magazines).
