Nektar Live Tour Update

Topic: Band News (tours, comings/goings, etc)

Due to changes at their label EMI, the second leg of Nektar's previously announced Book Of Days tour (dates after March 3) have been postponed.

As posted at their website Jan 27: "Nektar will definitely tour the USA in 2007.

"Recent events at EMI have had a direct effect on what Nektar can do in the short term but do not affect what they can do in the long term.

"As many of you will be aware EMI has had to cut costs and undergone a major finanical and structural overhaul. Put simply, Nektar's contract has been on hold, pressings delayed and finances delayed. This seriously encroached on our plans.

"Roy has been in New York working very closely with the venues, EMI, Caroline and many others to ensure that things can go ahead albeit in a different form. Fortunately we have been able to salvage the initial leg and working with the venues we have come up with alternative plans for the remainder of the year.

"Because Nektar finances its own tours without a promoter the lack of financing from EMI was a major consideration in having to alter our plans. It still is and we are relient on funds being received this week.

"So now things stand like this:

Next week all venues will issue an on sale date.
From Monday promtion will take place in particular on radio for the shows.
Mailouts - E Blasts - Postings - Posters - Flyers - Street-teams etc will all come into play.
Interviews - articles and advertsing will take place.
NOW we know what is happening any support you can give is appreciated."
