Upcoming Release Out June 11
New Album Marks First For Band On New Label, Century Media, And First With Vocalist Todd La Torre
Legendary Seattle rockers Queensrÿche return with new music from their upcoming soon-to-be-titled release slated for June 11th. The band debuted the full version of the song "Redemption" on SiriusXM Satellite Radio on Monday, March 25th on Ozzy's Boneyard and Eddie Trunk Live/Trunk Nation simultaneously. The song is posted on the label's YouTube page and can be viewed here
The band wrote "Redemption" collectively with Michael and Todd, with the melodies and lyrics written by Todd. The single "Redemption" and upcoming Century Media release marks the debut from the lineup comprised of Todd La Torre (Vocals), Michael Wilton (Guitars), Parker Lundgren (Guitars), Eddie Jackson (Bass) and Scott Rockenfield (Drums). The song was mixed and mastered by famed Queensrÿche producer James "Jimbo" Barton who is known for working on the band's classics, Operation: Mindcrime and Empire.
Queensrÿche wrapped up the first leg of the "Return To History World Tour" on March 30 in Uncasville, CT. The tour kicked off on March 5th in Dubuque, IA and received critical acclaim everywhere they have played. RockUSNews declared of their recent show in NY: "I've seen Queensrÿche perform live many times at some of the most intimate locations and at some of the largest arenas. I left that night happy thinking that I couldn't remember them having ever played better."
BackstageAxxess recently raved: "Todd had huge shoes to fill but I think he does it easily and then some. The rebirth of this band is exciting and made me appreciate them once again. They are playing the best material and to put it simply, Queensrÿche with Todd La Torre works." The tour will continue through April in Canada and Europe with additional dates being added throughout the summer. Tickets for all shows are currently on-sale now.
Queensrÿche first burst onto the music scene in 1982 with the release of their self-titled 4 song EP Queensrÿche. They very quickly gained international recognition and performed to sold-out audiences around the world. With the follow up first full-length album, The Warning, in 1984, and the ground-breaking 1986 release of Rage For Order, Queensrÿche continued to prove their worldwide dominance as one of the most respected and creative bands of the 80s.
In 1988 the band turned out yet another monumental album, Operation: Mindcrime, which would go on to become one of the TOP 10 best selling concepts records of all time, and set the stage for continued sold-out performances around the world. With the release of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Empire in 1991, the band earned multiple Grammy Award nominations and won the MTV "Viewer's Choice" award for the #1 chart topping hit, "Silent Lucidity." During the next ten years, the band continued to release albums and tour the world to sold-out audiences. Queensrÿche has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and have continued to break new ground and push their creative process.
