Pain Of Salvation's Scarsick tour is to be continued. The Swedes will make a short detour and drop in at - for InsideOut bands - some unusual place: In April, a show in the noble Sakkara Country Club in the Egyptian capital Cairo will be held. In February and March, Daniel Gildenl?w and his crew have already rocked the house in sold out places all over Europe, and as from April, the fans in Greece, Finland, Belgium, France, Spain and Turkey will also have the chance to see them live with songs like "America" and "Disco Queen."

Ziltoid the Omniscient is the main figure of a new project by Devin Townsend that will be considered, at least, for one corresponding rock album as well as for a video clip series. Ziltoid, an alien with the power and firm intention to destroy planet earth, is personified by a puppet and created by Townsend himself. The puppet alien appears to be a blend of "skeks" from Townsend's favourite movie The Dark Crystal by Muppet creator Jim Henson, of Grover from Sesame Street and Townsend himself. Devin Townsend recorded the Ziltoid album all by himself. It is scheduled for the end of May, and it unites elements of the Devin Townsend Band and Strapping Young Lad and even contains radio play material. Townsend himself calls it a metal symphony.

It is obvious that Sweden has an almost inexhaustible reservoir of highly interesting progressive bands among others also Beardfish, which are known up to date only to insiders outside their home land. Their trademark: an originally performed mixture of rock, folk and jazz deeply rooted in the 70s mostly, a music that manages without bombastic elements. InsideOut Music has signed the quartet and releases their third album Sleeping In Traffic: Part One in May.

Two years after their spectacular comeback album The Art Of Navigating By The Stars, Sieges Even's new baby will soon see the light of day: For May, the band from Munich has fully booked the studio to record the new album Paramount; it is due for the end of September. A headliner tour is already scheduled for October. Shows have been confirmed for Munich, Weiher, Progpower festival in Baarlo (NL), Hamburg, Aschaffenburg, Stuttgart, Oberhausen, Uster by Z?rich (Switzerland), Vienna, Reichenbach and B?nde. Further gigs in October as well as a follow-up tour for December are in the making.

Not only Spock's Beard, Neal Morse and his band, too, have confirmed the gig at the IO Pages festival in Zoetermeer (NL) on 25th and 26th of May. The "Beards" will be headliner on the first day, Morse on the second. In relevant forums this news ignites speculations: Will Morse and his former companions have a surprise act up their sleeve and be re-united on stage? A factor against it would be that on the very day of the Morse gig, Spock's Beard are engaged with an additional performance - but who knows? You never know what is going to happen on the first festival day. Further participations are Steve Thorne (25th of May) as well as Mangrove and Dial (both 26th May). Also, this newly formed band Dial reveals an old familiar face that features bassist Kristoffer Gildenl?w who recently departed Pain of Salvation.

The Tangent are preparing the release of a live DVD entitled Going Off On One. It will be available as a limited edition which also includes a double CD with additional audio material.
