Topic: Band News (tours, comings/goings, etc)

As reported in the IQ/GEP newsletter, It All Posts Here (hosted by Dutch Progressive Rock Page (DPRP)) "Work is now progressing well on the writing of the new IQ album, and the band plan to start recording in June with a view to a release in late September/early October. The two tracks already aired, 'Frequency' and 'Already Gone,' have been extremely well received at the recent live shows and the band hope to unveil more new material at their festival appearances in the summer.

"[Also, a]lthough virtually complete, the DVD release of Forever Live has now been postponed until late 2007 (possibly to coincide with the IQ tour?) to avoid it delaying the new IQ album.

"[And in related news,] Martin has made considerable progress with the album [The Old Road] in recent months, and apart from the lyrics on a couple of songs, the album is completely written now, and all the drums recorded. John Wetton, Andy Edwards and Irish fiddle player Colm Murphy have all been in the studio during February contributing great sessions, with more guests lined up. Martin is confident that the album will be released in time for the IQ tour in November.

"[And finally, an update on John Jowitt.] As always John has been incredibly busy over the last couple of months [...] John was due to play RoSFest this year as a special guest with Starcastle; sadly this had to be cancelled due to a clash with rehearsals for IQ's Tiana show the following week.

"Caamora is Clive Nolan and Agnieszka Swita. John is playing bass, whilst Mark Westwood [...], guitar tech for IQ and secret guitar wizz also features. Several songs have been recorded for an upcoming release, culminating in the recording of an album over the summer based on the story of H. Rider Haggard's 'She.' Caamora has now been booked to perform 'She' on 31st October 2007 at the Wyspianski Theatre, Katowice, Poland. This epic production will feature guest vocalists, instrumentalists, orchestra and choir, forming a two hour musical journey. The album and DVD recording of the show is planned for release as a box set in January 2008.

[Plus, as reported elsewhere, there's a new NEO DVD on the horizon and John appears on] Mirror, the first album by Blind Ego, a project of Kalle Wallner of RPWL[, which] has just been released. It features John on bass, John Mitchell and Paul Wrightson on vocals, Yogi Lang of RPWL on keys and Clive Nolan on backing vocals. Check them out at www.myspace.com/blindego."
