[Isildurs Bane]'s "annual IB Expo will take place at Kulturhuset in Halmstad, Sweden, on October 20 as announced in our last newsletter. Now it is time to inform you who will be there!

"We are very proud to tell you that the line up will consist of: Mike Keneally, Pamelia Kurstin, Bj?rn J:son Lindh, Luca Calabrese, Christian Saggese, and Isildurs Bane.

"Now get your tickets while you can! Tickets are very limited and we expect to see a full house, just like in 2005 and 2006. Buy your tickets from Biljettcentrum in Halmstad by phoning them on 035 12 02 00. Add the prefix for Sweden and delete the first zero if you phone from abroad.

"So, with this kind of line up, the tickets must be really expensive, right? Wrong. A ticket will only set you back 175 Swedish kronor, which amounts to approximately 25 US Dollars or 19 Euros. For that kind of money, you can hardly get a decent drink in Sweden.

"Some words on the participants:

"Mike Keneally is perhaps best known for being Frank Zappa?s last stunt guitarist, performing guitar, keyboard and vocal duties on Zappa?s final tour in 1988. Following that, Keneally has performed with the likes of Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa, Screamin? Jay Hawkins and Henry Kaiser just to drop a few names that may be familiar to you. Mike Keneally?s latest album is called Guitar Therapy. It is indeed guitar therapy. [...]

"Pamelia Kurstin is in all likelihood the foremost theremin player today. With her delicate touch on the instrument, a witty attitude, an investigative mind and creative playing style people all around the world have been fascinated when they have seen and heard Pamelia perform. Visionary electronics pioneer Bob Moog called Pamelia, "one of the most important innovators of the theremin living today," and her unique talent has been captured both on recordings and in live performances by a wide spectrum of outstanding artists, including David Byrne, John Zorn, Foetus, Sebastien Tellier, Air and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones.

"Check out Pamelia?s recent release on John Zorn's Tzadik label. The album is called Thinking Out Loud and is a part of Tzadik?s celebration of creative women musicians. The album can be bought online from www.tzadik.com. According to Tzadik's website, the album is 'a perfect compliment to a moonlight drive, rainy afternoon or a soft summer evening. Perhaps the strangest recording ever made by one of the strangest musical instruments ever invented. Also included are several lyrical compositions for piano.'

"Bj?rn J:son Lindh makes a welcome return to IB Expo 07. He enjoyed the whole event to the extent that he came with us to Portugal along with the other IB Expo 06 participants to perform at the Gouveia Art Rock festival. With a musician of Bj?rn's standing, we can only be grateful and say Thank you!

"For those of you who are unfamiliar with Bj?rn J:son Lindh and his music, go to http://www.myspace.com/bjornjsonlindh and familiarize yourself with his work. Or listen to any of his many solo releases. Or listen to Isildurs Bane's Cheval, The Voyage, MIND Vol. 1, MIND Vol. 2 or MIND Vol. 4. Bj?rn's flute and recorder playing is there for you to enjoy!

"Luca Calabrese (trumpet) and Christian Saggese (guitars) are part and parcel of the IB Expo events and we are most pleased to welcome them back again. Anyone who has heard these guys play knows why. Astonishing musicians who play composed music just as well as they improvise freely.

"As always, Isildurs Bane will host and perform at the IB Expo. This years? line up will consist of: Klas Assarsson - percussion
Fredrik "Gicken" Johansson - bass
Mats Johansson - keyboards
Jan Severinsson - sound engineer
Kjell Severinsson - drums"
