MVD Audio announces more prog and rock releases.

Jon Anderson - Live In Sheffield 1980 - Leaving Yes in 1979 for a solo career and recording the album Song Of Seven Jon embarked on a tour with a 9 piece large band known as The New Life Band. The Sheffield Concert was a gig from this tour in the UK 1980. The set list includes key Yes songs as well as solo songs. These recordings are recently discovered tapes and the quality is far better than any of the previous tapes of this show that have been traded amongst fans. Disc Two also contains bonus tracks which were recorded during the rehearsals for the tour. In 2006 Jon Anderson released the boxed set The Lost Tapes and Live In Sheffield 1980 is one of the albums featured within the box.

Gentle Giant - Live In NY 1975 - This recording is the latest in the series of live recordings on the Glasshouse label and captures the band on tour in America in October 1975. As with all the recordings in this series Live In New York has been re-mastered for this release in order to obtain the best sound possible from the original source.

Oblivion Sun - Oblivion Sun - Oblivion Sun is the new prog band featuring Frank Wyatt and Stan Whitaker, founding members of Happy The Man. Their self-titled debut shows a band that can prog-n-roll and throw down the funk! "Fanfare" & "Noodlepoint" have all the bombast and majesty one expects from proggers, while "No Surprises" & "re:Bootsy" show a band which could just as easily share a bill with King's X as they could Mahavishnu. For fans of Spock's Beard, Battles, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, etc.

Fall - Live At The ATP Festival - The Fall have always been seen as a cult band and have survived the trends of the music business while other bands come and go... it would seem the Fall are here forever. The Fall also boasted legendary British broadcaster John Peel amongst their fan base and of all the artists that he welcomed to his show the Fall are allegedly the only band that John Peel had kept all the session recordings in his personal archive. Live At The ATP Festival was recorded on the band's tour of USA in 2002. This recording has been officially sanctioned by Mark E Smith and features a number of key Fall songs including "Bourgeois Town," "Ketamine Sun" and "Kick The Can."

John Martyn - Couldn't Love You More - Couldn't Love You More includes the tracks "Couldn't Love You More," "Solid Air," "Sweet Little Mystery," and "May You Never." All the recordings were at the time new recordings and featured Martyn's band which included Spencer Cozens alongside guest musicians Phil Collins and Dave Gilmour, who also feature on a number of tracks. The original single album has been unavailable for some time making this release an important reissue.

John Martyn - Sixty Minutes With... - John Martyn is an important and influential figure in both British folk and rock music. Over a career that spans thirty seven years John Martyn has managed to explore a variety of styles woven together to become a style all of its own. Sixty Minutes With, features some of John's best known tracks performing both in the studio and live.

Man - Diamonds And Coal - The Man band were one of many pop bands in the sixties that were trying to climb the ladder of success and managed to release many singles between 1964 and 1968. The music that the Man band performed was very much in keeping with the West Coast sound of US bands such as The Quicksilver Messenger Service. Throughout the seventies the band had undergone a number of changes with members coming and going. The most recent line up includes Martin Ace's son Josh and Mickey Jones' son George. The reformed band have played many concerts and recorded several albums which consolidated the bands solid reputation. Diamonds And Coal, already welcomed by fans looks set to be a firm favourite. Man - Sixty Minutes With... - Sixty Minutes With will act as a fine primer for this legendary band and includes some of their best material including 70s tracks "Romain," "Many Are Called But Few Get Up" and "The Welsh Connection." The band only managed to release one studio album in the 80s, The Twang Dynasty and "Wings Of Mercury" is featured from this album. Into the nineties we have Call Down The Moon and to bring us right up to date we have included a rare edit of the band's most recent studio album Diamonds And Coal, which heralds a whole new era of this legendary band which now features the second generation of Man with Martin Ace's son Josh, George Jones and Bob Richards and Martin Ace.
