Delight - one of the most interesting gothic rock/metal bands in Poland. On May 14, 2005, the band played a gig at the Wave Gotik Treffen Festival in Leipzig, Germany. The gig was part of a contest organized by the German magazine Orkus, Roadrunner Records, Wave Gotik Treffen and Mastersound Entertainment. Delight were voted the best band of the event, earning a long-term contract with Roadrunner Records. It was the first Polish act to be signed by that rock/metal/alternative label! Delight's new album entitled Breaking Ground was produced by Rhys Fulber (famous for his work with Fear Factory, Paradise Lost and Front Line Assembly). The recording session took place in February 2006 in Strait Sound studio, Gibsons, Canada. The material was mixed by Greg Reely (Paradise Lost, Fear Factory, Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Theatre Of Tragedy, etc.), and mastered by Kai Blankenberg at Skyline (Die Toten Hosen, Die Happy, Guano Apes, Paradise Lost, Within Temptation etc).

Breaking Ground was first released in the band's native country Poland (15th January 2007) and then in Germany. Today Metal Mind Productions releases the album worldwide in a special digipak edition which includes a video track as a bonus!

The album will be available on 18th February in Europe and on 13th May in USA (via MVD).

Bio: The band was formed as Sator in 1998 in Skawina, a small town near Cracow (Poland); in the following line-up was: Paulina Maslanka - vocals, Jaroslaw Baran - drums & guitar, Sebastian Wojtowicz - guitar, Piotr Szymanski - bass and Tomasz Polczyk - keyboards. After a few-months the band recorded their first demo tape ...And Remember, released by the underground label Eternal Blackness. Soon after that, Daniel Kaczmarczyk joined the band on drums.

In the renewed line-up the band prepared material for a full-length debut album. The band signed a record deal with the Polish rock and metal label, Metal Mind Records. At the same they changed their name to Delight. Just before the LP's release, drummer Daniel Kaczmarczyk and keyboard player Tomasz Polczyk decided to leave the band. Nonetheless, they would still participate in the recording process as session musicians. They were replaced by Tomasz Baran (drums) and Barbara Lasek (keyboard).

On November 12, 2000 Metal Mind Production released Delight's debut album entitled Last Temptation. It took them only a year to return with the follow-up album - The Fading Tale. The new songs were recorded at Jaroslaw Baran's home studio. As part of the promo Delight went on a tour supporting Polish's band Moonlight.

In August 2002, Delight recorded their third full-length album, Eternity. In November, Delight toured their home country alongside Artrosis, Moonlight, Fading Colors and Desdemona as part of the Dark Stars Festival 2002. A couple of line-up changes took place in that period - Tomasz Baran was replaced by Piotr Wojcik while Jakub "Cube" Kubica filled the position of the keyboard player.

Year 2003 was very busy for Delight. The band played a gig at the Metalmania Festival in Katowice as well as at a Polish TV Studio in Cracow. Both shows were recorded for the future The Last Tale Of Eternity DVD release. In May 2003 Delight played several concerts in Germany, alongside Alvarez Perez, Expretus and Universal Mind. The end of the tour brought another change in the line-up as Sebastian Wojtowicz decided to leave the band.

In summer of 2003 Delight started to work on the new material. Delight?s fourth studio album had its premiere in October 2004. The album was recorded in two language versions (Polish and English). On May 14, 2005, Delight played at the Wave Gotik Treffen Festival in Leipzig, Germany, as mentioned above.

In July 2005 Delight co-supported Soulfly at their show in Warsaw and in August played a show at the Metal Hammer Festival (alongside bands such as Korn, Opeth, Lacuna Coil, Hunter and Mech). In September the line-up was altered again, as Piotr Szymanski was replaced by Marek Tkocz and the band was joined by an additional guitar player, Grzegorz Gustof. Thus began work on Breaking Ground.
