Three years after the release of their first self-produced album Libera Mente, here is the new work by IV Luna (in English, Fourth Moon) called D'Incanto.

The band continues the trip started with the previous album, this time under the production of Blond Records, a label that doesn't usually release progressive music. Anyway, IV Luna are very good musicians and give new life to a genre like prog metal that rarely adds something new as innovation. Their style is full of different mixtures and it's very hard giving a definition to their kind of music. It is more metal than progressive, with some dark influences, as you can notice from the cover artwork.

The disc is carried on thanks to the powerful guitar riffs by the Chessa brothers and goes from heavy metal ? in fact on "Isterica Realt?" there is as guest Flegias, the singer from the Italian band Necrodeath ? to some material near to being psychedelic music. Moreover, the album is completely sung in Italian, like in the best Italian prog tradition. This background is evident in a ballad like "A Piedi Nudi." On the other hard, in the complicated guitar phrases you can discover some Fates Warning derivations.

To conclude, both metal fans and prog rock ones will like this because of its hard and fascinating sound.
