Bakerloo was a blues power trio in a format that emulated Cream. Keith Baker (drums), Terry Poole (bass) and Dave "Clem" Clempson (guitar) combined to make a sophisticated blues-rock band. Clempson would go on to receive further notoriety with Colosseum and Humble Pie.

This self-titled LP would be their first and last. It is unfortunate that it worked out that way, as the band never had the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. If this recording is any indication of what they were capable of producing and what direction they were going in, it is indeed a shame that another album did not follow.

The unusually long ?Son Of Moonshine? reminded me of Tony Iommi's licks on the first Black Sabbath album. Ironically, after having that thought, I read that their manager was also the manager of the band Earth, which would later become Black Sabbath!

This band clearly defined the term ?power trio.? They played hard and were full of enough piss 'n' vinegar to record a classic slice of white boy blues-rock that was most memorable. The album has the striking original artwork pictured on gatefold sleeve covers with black and white pictures of the band on the inside cover, making it a nicely packaged collector's piece.
